Last week’s match, which was the first rugby match to be held at this stadium, went well so we are looking forward to Friday night,’ said Alderman James Vos, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth.
‘This is a rugby weekend for Capetonians and the Currie Cup is one of the most prestigious events on the rugby calendar. I want to encourage all Capetonians to come out on Friday night to support our Western Province players at Athlone Stadium and show your “gees",’ said Alderman JP Smith, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security.
